As first-time home buyers, we hired a Hawkeye inspector for a home inspection in Chelmsford, MA in December, 2020. From the moment we met Peter, we were highly impressed by his professionalism and candor. He arrived 20-30 minutes early to start the process on the outside of the house. He made an effort to hear our concerns, provide answers to our questions, and explain the home improvement terminology. The process of inspecting the house took roughly 3 hours, and we appreciated his attention to detail; we did not feel rushed through the process at any point. After the inspection, he sent us a full, detailed report of all of his findings, as well as several other resources/contacts for homeowners. Peter is an excellent home inspector and takes pride and great joy in performing his job. (He even confided that he'd prefer to stay and work then retreat to Florida this winter!) Peter was recently chosen by the buyer to inspect the house which took about two hours. After the inspection, Peter contacted me directly to alert the sellers to winterize the outside faucets in order to avoid freezing. As many of you know, burst pipes can be a major setback and jeopardize or delay the sale of the home. In my experience, burst pipes are a major burden that no seller wants to contend with. As a first time home buyer the whole process has been a stressful experience with a steep learning curve, but I couldn't have asked for a better inspector. Peter took the time to explain his inspection criteria in depth while he was conducting the inspection. As relatives reviewed the copy of his inspection report, they were astounded by the amount of detail and diligence that the inspection included. As an added perk, a custom inspection binder was provided which included a helpful home repair manual. To top it all off, Peter bought drinks and snacks for everyone present. Peter has a keen eye for detail and offered a wealth of information throughout the course of the inspection. He was a pleasure to work with offering snacks, as well as a framed picture of our new home.
